The Naughton sisters' dazzling duo

Teamwork to showcase true talent and incredible virtuosity

Drawing on a virtuosity fueled by their close relationship as twins, Christina and Michelle Naughton gave a dazzling demonstration of their artistic talent yesterday afternoon at La Côte-Saint-André church.

The two pianists' program included Mendelssohn, Schubert, Kurtág's 'Atiratok', inspired by Bach's chorales, and a transcription of Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring'.

Their four hands moved deftly around on the keyboard in perfect harmony and produced a range of emotions throughout the score, alternating ardor and tenderness in a dialog sublimated by the same breathing, the same generosity and a sheer joy of playing.
